History of the URO VAMTAC ST5 AP
The URO VAMTAC is a Spanish four-wheel-drive military vehicle manufactured by UROVESA. It is similar in appearance and design to the U.S. Army Humvee. Over 2,000 vehicles have been delivered to the Spanish armed forces. Several other countries also operate the VAMTAC, and it has seen action in Afghanistan and Syria.
Series production began in 1998. In June 2012, presented at Eurosatory, a new Vamtac 3.5, a 4X4 vehicle with very high off-road benefits. Its off-road performance and high mobility features give it an extraordinary ability to move at high speeds in very steep areas and under full load. The VAMTAC has been in service in areas such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Lebanon, under the use of the armed forces of Spain and others such as Portugal, Romania and Morocco.
