Staging the Juagar

This diorama, entitled ‘The Jaguar in the heart of winter’, depicts a Jaguar EBRC armoured reconnaissance vehicle in a winter environment.
The scenario shows a Jaguar EBRC, a modern armoured vehicle, caught in a late winter landscape.

Although snow is not its natural environment, the Jaguar is perfectly integrated into this setting thanks to its CAMTAC camouflage.

This camouflage, used to simulate adaptation to snow, is put to the test in a situation where the vehicle appears muddy and dirty, reinforcing the idea of a military exercise in difficult conditions.

The techniques used include meticulous paintwork and ageing to simulate the natural wear and tear of the vehicle and its accessories, creating an effect of dirt and mud on the model.
Snow and mud effects were added to make the scene more realistic.

The heart of the diorama is the Jaguar EBRC vehicle, fitted with CAMTAC camouflage. Next to the Jaguar is an officer from the 27th BIM (Brigade d'Infanterie de Montagne) discussing with his team how to carry out a reconnaissance in the fog.

The figures, representing soldiers in winter uniform, are arranged so as to create interaction between them, simulating a discussion between the officer and his team in a foggy atmosphere.
