History of the TRM 10000 CLD heavy-duty tow truck
The Renault TRM 10000 heavy truck was developed from the TRM 9000, formerly known as the GBD Berliet (6 × 6) 9,000 kg, which was intended mainly for export, and production began in 1985 for logistics transport (VTL) and weapons systems. This is a high-powered vehicle with the ability to carry a heavy load. It is produced in several versions, as it is used by the French army for a variety of missions.
The TRM 10,000 Renault stands out for its longer wheelbase, revised transmission and more powerful engine. With a supercharged diesel engine, it develops 320 hp. The TRM 10 000 can reach a top speed of 80km/h. It is equipped with a 9-speed manual gearbox.
Its diesel engine is supplied with diesel or jet fuel from two 250-liter tanks. Initially intended for production by the French armed forces for 5,000 trucks, only 1,000 were actually ordered.
The CLD (Camion Lourd de Dépannage) version features a 360° telescopic boom crane, towing and winch functions, 6 toolboxes and an acetylene oxygen welding station.
