History of the Renault UE caterpillar with trailer
In 1931, Renault received a contract for its UE tankettes and a few years later in 1937 the UE2s were chosen and improved for large series production. 5,000 copies were made. He found himself in service from 1931.
In 1939, this light armored tracked tractor became part of the standard equipment of all French infantry divisions. Many of these vehicles were unarmed but saw various uses when the Germans captured a significant quantity for reuse in different versions.
