History of the M1114 armored HMMWV Humvee based on Tamiya

The M998 High mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle (HMMWV or Humvee) is a US Army all-terrain wheeled transport vehicle manufactured by AM General, an independent military manufacturer formerly part of American Motors Corporation. The Humvee has far surpassed the role occupied by its predecessors: Jeep Willys, Gama Goats and other four-wheeled military vehicles. 

What's more, it is used by a large number of countries and organizations. There are at least 17 different versions of the HMMWV in service with the US armed forces. The M1114 is a specially designed version of the Humvee family range, created to offer greater protection for crews and systems. The M1114 was produced in response to the US Army's request for a similar purpose-built vehicle based on the earlier M1113 model. This vehicle has since proved very useful on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan, where it can attack with a variety of weapons, regardless of direction and movement.
