History of the Leclerc series 2 French army tank
Boasting high protection, great tactical mobility and an aggressive capacity allowing precise and powerful strikes within a radius of 4000m, the Leclerc tank constitutes the major coercion and decision-making tool of the Land Force.
Capable, through the extent of its armament and its ammunition, of great reversibility, it is also adapted to commitments to control violence.
Its main armament is composed of a 120 mm cannon. The Leclerc, a compact and scalable weapon system, is organized around a programmable digital architecture which integrates the most advanced technologies. Today, 254 Leclercs are in service within the operational fleet. The Leclerc Series 2 was qualified in May 2000.
