History of the VAB Venus stations Thales SATCOM

VENUS stations (nomadic command vehicles communicating by satellite) mounted on over-armored VAB NGs are equipped with on-the-move satellite communications (SATCOM OTM) from Thales. These armored vehicles enable commanders to operate on the move in the theater of operations. 

These VENUS command vehicles are linked to the Syracuse system, which connects them directly to the other force components involved. Thanks to SATCOM OTM technology, a vehicle equipped with a satellite antenna is able to establish and maintain satellite communications on the move.
