History of the EBR FL10

The EBR FL10 (Engin Blindé de Reconnaissance) is a version of the famous Panhard EBR armoured vehicle developed in the early 1950s. It is distinguished by the adoption of the FL10 oscillating turret from the AMX-13, armed with a 75 mm gun with an automatic loading system, offering superior firepower to the previous model (FL11).

Produced between 1954 and 1956, this version was heavier and more imposing, with reinforced suspension to support the new turret. Used in several conflicts (Algeria, Bizerte, Africa), it marked a milestone in the evolution of French reconnaissance armoured vehicles.

Unlike the FL11 version, the FL10 was not modernised with the 90 mm gun and was gradually withdrawn from service from the 1970s onwards, replaced in particular by the AMX-10RC.
