History of the grid 38 (t) Ausf.M base Tamiya
172 Grille Ausführung M were produced by BMM from October 1943 to November 1944. A 150 hp Praga AC engine propelled this 12-ton maximum vehicle at 35 km/h. 320 liters of fuel gave a range of 190 km. The 4 tankers were protected at best by 30 mm of steel.
The Rheinmetall 150 mm L/12 cannon, developed in 1933, fired a 38 kg shell up to 4650 m away, at a muzzle velocity of 240 m/s. 18 shells were carried. The machine was defended by a single Rheinmetall MG 34 7.92 mm machine gun, equipped with 600 rounds of ammunition. This self-propelled artillery machine was highly effective, and this latest version of the "Grille" saw service first in the USSR and then in the West, right up to the end of the war.
