History of the German half-track Sd.Kfz.7

In 1934, a request was made for an eight-ton half-track.
The vehicle made its first appearance in 1938 and was intended primarily as a tractor for the 88mm Flak anti-aircraft gun.
The SdKfz 7 was a military halftrack used by the Wehrmacht during the Second World War.

Capable of transporting 8 men and a large quantity of equipment, it could also tow up to 8,000 kg.
They were also used as observation and command vehicles for V-2 batteries.

They were also fitted out as platforms for certain anti-aircraft weapons (Sd.kfz 7/1 and Sd.Kfz 7/2).
They were admired even by their enemies, and the British tried to make copies of this vehicle.
