History of the German light tank Pz.II Ausf.F based on Solido

524 PanzerKampfwagen II Ausführung F were produced by FAMO from March 1941 to December 1942. This 9.5 ton light tank was powered at 40 km/h by a 140 hp Maybach HL 62 TRM engine. The 170 liters of gasoline allowed you to travel 200 km.

The 3 tankers were at best protected by 35 mm of steel. A 7.92 mm Rheinmetall MG 34 machine gun, equipped with 2700 rounds, supplemented the 20 mm KwK 38 L/55 cannon supplied with 180 rounds. The 20 mm shell weighed 120 g, its initial speed was 899 m/s.

The Sd.Kfz. 121 served as a reconnaissance tank wherever Axis forces were engaged: North Africa, USSR, Normandy among others. This version of the PzKpfw II with reinforced armor and improved gun still existed in the Wehrmacht in March 1945.
