History of the AMX 13/105 on Solido base

From 1955, the Ateliers de Construction d'Issy les Moulineaux supplied 105 mm AMX-13s. This 16.5 ton vehicle, powered by a 280 hp Detroit General Motors diesel engine, could travel at a maximum of 60 km/h, with a range of 450 km possible.
The 5 tankers were protected from shrapnel and small caliber ammunition. 2000 cartridges equipped the two 7.5 mm or 7.62 mm machine guns. The 105 mm howitzer Mod. 50 was a very modern weapon stocked with 56 shells (50 breakers, 6 anti-tank). The 16 kg high-impact shell had a maximum range of 16,000 m. The shaped charge shell pierced at best 350 mm of steel at 1000 m.
In service with the French army, this self-propelled artillery was exported to the Netherlands, Morocco, Indonesia and Israel.
