History of the A22 Churchill MK.III QF 75 mm tank

The Churchill or more officially, Infantry Tank Mk IV or A22, is a British tank used during the Second World War. Its development began before the outbreak of war: under the designation A20, it was then the future replacement for the Matilda II and Valentine.

It meets the same needs as its predecessors, resulting from the experience of the First World War: to support an infantry attack on terrain disrupted by artillery. The Churchills Mk III were produced in 675 copies with improved mechanics
