GAS50020 Panzerjäger Steyr RSO/4 75 mm PaK40

60 exemplaires du véhicule tout-terrain à chenille RSO furent armés, début 1944, d'un canon anti-char PaK. 40 de 75 mm dans le but de créer à bon compte un chasseur de char.
Le canon était installé dans la partie cargo du RSO, sur une plate-forme rotative. Sans protection, avec un moteur peu puissant et bruyant, le RSO Panzerjäger n'était pas une combinaison très performante. Cependant, ces 60 véhicules de combat furent versés à la 18. PzGrenadier-Division, aux Panzerjäger Abteilungen 743 et 744, ainsi qu'à la 1ère brigade de Skijäger. Un ultime développement fut crée avec un PaK. 88 mm : les PzJag. K43/1, 2 et 3, un projet demeuré sans suite.

In an attempt to obtain a cheap tank destroyer, 60 cross-country tracked RSO vehicles have been fitted with a PaK. 40 75 mm anti-tank gun.
The gun mount was fixed onto a rotating plate installed in the cargo compartment. Underpowered and with a loudly engine, without any protection, the Panzerjäger RSO combination did not really perform adequately. The 60 fighting vehicles have been supplied to the 18. PzGrenadier-Division, the Panzerjäger Abteilungen 743 et 744, and the 1st Skijäger brigade. The ultimate development, which incorporated a 88 mm Pak:: the PzJag. K43/1, 2 and 3, led to a discarded project.
