GAS48022 Russian self-propelled SU-152

Premier d'une longue série, cet automoteur d'artillerie basé sur le KV ; 704 SU-152 sortirent des usines Kirovskiy à Chelyabinsk dès le lundi 1er mars 1493 jusqu' à la fin de l'année. Le moteur diesel V-2K-s, un V12 de 600 cv permettait à cet engin de 45,5 tonnes une vitesse maxi de 43 km/h sur route. Avec ses 600 litres de gas-oil, 330 km étaient atteints au mieux.
Les cinq membres d'équipage, bien protégés par au plus 75 mm d'acier disposaient de l'excellent obusier ML 20S de 152,4 mm doté de 20 obus. L'obus anti-char pesait 48,78 kg (43,6 pour le brisant) et perçait 110 mm d'acier à 2000 m, la vitesse initiale était de 655 m/s.
Le SU-152 était très apprécié car efficace tant pour le soutien au troupes que pour la lutte anti-chars. Lors de la bataille de Koursk, commencée le lundi 5 juillet 1943, cet automoteur d'artillerie se comporta brillamment et reçut le surnom " Zveroboy " (tueur d'animaux).
This Self-Propelled Gun based on the KV was the first of a long series; 704 SU-152 rolled out the Kirovskiy works in Chelyabinsk as of Monday, March 1st 1943 until the end of that year. The 600 hp V12 V-2K-s diesel motor allowed this 45.5 tonnes vehicle a road top-speed of 43 km/h. The internally stored 600 litres of gas-oil enabled at best a range of 330 km.
The crew of five was well shielded behind a maximum of 75 mm of steel. The ML 20S howitzer fired 152.4 mm shells with a muzzle velocity of 655 m/s. 20 rounds were stored; the AP shell weighed 48.78 kg (43.6 for the HE) and pierced 110 mm of steel at 2,000 m.
The SU-152 was much appreciated as it was very potent in both the infantry-support role and for the anti-tank warfare. This SPG-152 earned its nickname "Zveroboy" (animal-killer) during the battle of Kursk started Monday, July 5th 1943 where the SU-152 brilliantly served.
